Player does not recognize my nvidia card...

Sat Dec 24, 2016 3:29 pm

Hi, i have a laptop with a Intel hd 5500 integrated and a discrete Nvidia 920m, but hardware acceleration only detects my intel hd 5500, already tried on nvidia control panel to run splash with 920m as main card but hardware acceleration appears greyed out, already checked nvidia website and it says it has the 5th generation of purevideo hd, is there a way to make the player recognize my nvidia card?

Does your card support NVIDIA NVENC technology?

Yes it does, i Just checked notebookcheck website for info, Nvidia 920m has PureVideo HD for decoding and NVENC API for encoding, I'm Using nvidia driver version 376.33 machine has the latest windows 10, but i do not think it's the driver i think the problem may be intel and nvidia in the same computer maybe? i've 2 other friends who have this player and their laptops 1 have a nvidia 940m and the other has a amd r7 265 the player still only detects intel, not that this is bad but i'm sure a discrete card would do way better than a integrated chip if there's no way around i will wait for future updates to see if it's fixed, no rush.

Radi you can mark this post as solved =), found a way for the player to recognize my nvidia card, just ran the player as admin with compatibility set to windows XP service pack 3 and it worked like a charm. still find very weird i had to do all this for it to work properly.
