CPU influence?

Hello
First thank you for the good work about 2.0 which works fine here.
I would like to know if a better cpu than mine (i7 2600) could get better results in decoding.
The issue is videos in Full HD are very smooth with GPU acceleration (GTX 970) BUT there is some annoying artefacts sometimes.
When i disable GPU accel, the quality is much better but it is not really fluid...
Does an upgrade can fix it? Is there someone here who have experienced this?
