Just to confirm this I also have this issue. I have sent a help request to the support to report the issue. After the new update when trying to start Action the screen flashes black and then restarts windows. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but issues trying to reinstall action. After fighting I got it reinstalled but can't activate action as it flashes the screen then restarts my system.

I really hope this gets figured out because I really love this program and have been using it for almost 4 years. I did figure out that the flashing produces a display error when looking at the system logs upon logging back on after crash.

Ok I thought I would leave an update to the issue I had. I'm not exactly sure what I did, out of all the things I tried, that finally fixed my issue. There are so many things I did to troubleshoot this I can't put my finger on the final fix so forgive me for not being able to provide more information.

Action is back up and running fine at the moment. One thing that I do need to note and confirm is the default installation directory, what is it suppose to be? Mine is still installing to Program Files(x86) and not Program Files. This time I did leave it in the (x86) directory without moving it but I was under the impression that it needed to be in the other. I had no option on where to install the program so it automatically installed in the (x86). This is a completely clean install with everything removed from the previous even from the registry. If this is confusing just take a look at this topic and my reply http://forum.mirillis.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=38772

Possible solution with RivaTuner users

Sun May 07, 2017 2:12 am

I had the same issue since upgrading to Windows 10 Creators Update. Today I decided to check which application may be conflicting with Action, and after several trial & errors it turned out it was RivaTuner.

Then after fiddling around RivaTuner settings I could only come up with two solutions:
1) Under Global, set application detection level to None
2) Go to settings and untick Enable 64-bit applications support service

Either way, Mirillis Action can run again but from disabling either one of two solutions RivaTuner would not display on screen or affecting games without their custom settings. It's possible to turn either of solutions back on AFTER successfully running Mirillis Action, but have to repeat the whole steps every reboot or restarting Action.

from now Windows 10 version 1703 build 15063.296. (x64)
Rivatuner has issue with Action!

if you untick "Enable 64-bit applications support service" then On-Screen function may not working in some game.

I have found Action_x64.bin conflict with Rivatuner.
easy solution you just add profile "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mirillis\Action!\Action_x64.bin" and select detection level to None

Return to “Action! Screen and Game Recorder”
