I was able to force a manual update even though my computer didn't say I needed to. Action went unresponsive but stayed open longer than it did previously, as before it just shut down straight away and reopened again with a corrupted file.

yes i have Asus Sonic Suite 2

Mee too, but before it worked but since 1 week it does not work anymore, while I did not download anything!

Please try removing or moving to another location all your video files from your video output folder. Once your video folder is empty please run Action! and see if it's still crashing.

I guess i should've said desktop recording then.

it implies anything, windows STILL prompts me to refresh Action! Indeed, even after as of now reinstalling it and such, which persuades that it won't not be completely refreshing in any event to the point that windows itself can perceive the refresh.
