Could you please record desktop using region (1280x720 region size) and compare sharpness with fullscreen desktop recording?

About 1366x768 recording. I've made small test - recorded still video and then exported it, taking screenshots of results an all stages.
Video was 1366x768 an all the stages.

Screen.png - lossless screenshot, for comparison.
Screen444.jpg - screenshot in jpg with 100% quality. Since video is not lossless there is some sense in comparison with it
Screen420.jpg - same with 4:2:0 subsampling, for comparison with H.264 video, since it 4:2:0
Screen422.jpg - same with 4:2:2 subsampling, for comparasion with FIC, since it 4:2:2?

FIC.png - screenshot from recorded (.fic) file opened in splash.
Exported_Splash.png - screenshot from exported file opened in splash.
Exported_EVR.png - screenshot from exported file opened in MPC with EVR renderer.
Exported_madVR.png- screenshot from exported file opened in MPC with madVR renderer.

Сonclusion: Action! records 1366x768 video shifted by ~1.5 pixels to the right, left colums of pixels are green. Action! exports video correctly, as it was recorded. Video is as sharp as it could be when lossy compressed with 4:2:0 subsampling BUT not any player can display 1366x768 video on 1366x768 display correctly, without any streching.

Same quality. I might just be eye perfectionist. So i will wait for you to release High quality mode and then I'l have final decision.

The quality is fine but I would like a lower compression mode. Let the video encoder do the compression. Lossless ftw :D

HDD space is no issue nowadays. Let the FIC file be bigger with HIGH and LOSSLESS quality modes. The encoder will take care of the compression later when exporting.

High and loseless settings will take more hdd space.

Hdd space is still an issue and we did our best to minimize output file size.

Beside hdd free space problem it causes 2 problems (when recording in 1080 or higher):
- it is easy to overstress hdd with high bitrate and cause gameplay or applications to stutter
- with big bitrates there is a problem with raw recordings playback. It may be hard to find a player that will provide a smooth playback keeping audio/video synchro. We have tested many capture software and all with high bitrate output files caused problems with playback. Devil May Cry 4 is a nice game to test it out, generates crazy bitrates.

So we try to keep files small with normal quality settings and provide dedicated player that can handle quite big bitrates well (but still need some further improvements - coming soon).

icsterm: can you please confirm that Dirt3 is working fine now with 1.1.0?
