"Shadow" recording?

Mon Nov 23, 2015 12:28 am

So I noticed that Action is a very lightweight recorder and doesn't even make my GPU work hard at all (Using AMD Radeon HD R9 200/7900 Series) and I was wondering if it has a shadow mode where I can press a key and it will grab the last 30 seconds of gameplay or whatever (15 seconds, 5 minutes, etc) and make it into a video? Like Nvidia Shadowplay/Xbox App on W10/AMD Gaming Evolved?

Yes, in Action it's called "Timeshift" and it's in version 1.25.0 and newer. Though it uses GPU acceleration (Intel Quick Sync, AMD APP, NVidia NVENC etc.) and is "limited" to games mode.

Oh awesome.

Is there a way to change the keybinding for the Timeshift? I've tried clicking the keybind but nothing comes up to let me change it or anything.

Edit: Also for people having issues with this like I had with the GPU shutting down, make sure you select for File Format AMD APP MP4.

Yea. On the main window, click the last icon from the right on the tab row, it's shaped like a gear. Once there, another row of tabs will appear under the main one. Go to the last one on the right again, the icon is like a keyboard. There u will find the bindings for Action. To view the one for Timeshift, click the small arrow pointing to the right at the bottom of the list, it should be the bottom one.

Okay, but HOW do I change the keybinding? It doesn't let me click it and give me an option to change it.
