Will it work only for 24fps video or also for other framerates (25; 29,97; 30)?

What are expected system requirements for SD video?

Hello vivan,

25p/30p to 60p conversion will also be supported (although our primary target is cinematic 24p).
Detailed Motion² system requirements will be specified soon.

Best regards.

First, let me thank you for this wonderful software product!
Excellent video quality - now calling card Mirillis.

Now a few questions on Picture2:
1. The player does not distinguish interlased or progresive video,
when activated Motion2. When interlased video has to manually
disable Motion2, to earn deinterlasng. Is it possible to automatically
perform deinterlasing to Motion2?
2. Motion2 in the current version has a number of artifacts. Will
there be further developed Motion2 to improve image quality and
masking artifacts? Will involved for GPU Motion2 future versions?
3. Do you plan a more effective Motion2 on video with fast motion in the frame, in the scenes with the decrease or increase the image?

With best regards,
Vsevolod.

With Light Boost, increasing the level increases luminance and color accordingly, and with Detail Boost, increasing the level increases clarity accordingly, but how does increasing/decreasing the level of Motion² affect the video in terms of motion fluidity?

From levels +1 to +5 I see "2x", but from levels +6 to +10 I see "60p". What does "2x" or "60p" mean exactly, and what is the difference between, say, +6 60p and +10 60p? I always thought it would be more of a simple "on" or "off" rather than 1-10.

2x = 2x fps
e.g. 24x2 = 48 fps
60p = 60 fps
24x5/2 = 60 fps

for 30 fps content it should be the same (30x2 = 60)...

I.e. what are the differences between motion slider =1 and motion slider = 2 ?
higher value means motion more fluent but some more artefacts possible on harder content.

2X means the motion will be 2X smoother. It's basically smooths motion without destroying the film look. But it's doesn't function well atm.

In simple terms, the script gets more aggressive as you up the numbers. +1 (x2) applies a fairly tame algorithim and hence a minor 3d effect. +10 is at the other end of the spectrum, hence it is a more complicated algorithm and applies an extreme 3d effect. The image on the +10 literally gives the impression that you are there in the movie, or a very 'soap opera' effect as some people like to call it. The only downside is that because the +10 script is very aggressive and complicated, it does tend to introduce quite a bit of judder, macro blocking etc. I tend to leave my motion2 on 6 as it provides really good depth to the image, a nice 3d 'pop' , hardly any artifacts and the video is damn smooth.

Bottom line, experiment with different settings and choose what you like. Your PC's ability to handle the motion2, the type of file, the resolution of the file etc all have a bearing on the quality of the picture. Experiment away!

Hope that helps!

Tristan

thanks triston, i have been using 6 aswell, seems like the least artifacts at 60p
