Audio Problems with spdif

Wed Oct 20, 2010 3:08 pm

Hi I have the following problem.
I get through the splash player no digital audio signal. About my sound card I'll go with coaxial cable into my Receiver. now if I select Spdif in audio menu from splash, I have no sound. If the film starts from time to time give a brief message on my Receiver, that a digital signal is there. Four to five times is flashing the DTS logo or DIGITAL logo in the reciever. The sound stumbles at this time and then is quiet again. When I run the film even further, it can happen that the movie starts to stutter. The fact is that I have on my sound card set as far as all this to work on my coaxial cable. At least that is with the Media Player Classic has been the case.

Can me help someone with this problem?
Sorry for the bad english, the Google translator has translated the text ;)

With *other player* i have a digital signal. But I must say also that I have run with it ffdshow in the background. that function with splash apparently not, as I use pass-through with my sound card.

Please check if problem repeats with the latest version as we have made many improvements for audio bitstreaming

I also confirm that the problem persists in latest version of the player (1.7.1.0) with my "Creative SB X-Fi" audio device. In all other players (KMPlayer, MPC-HC) all sounds OK.

Seems like audio bitstream is not synchronized to system clock but maybe to video window or like that, so audio bitstream gets scrambled so digital receiver fails to recognize it.

We will keep investigate this but we cannot repeat problem in our labs.

Same problem here - can´t get spdif passthrough with DTS and AC3 streams - the receiver doesn´t recognize the format. All other players work fine.

Is it possible to get somekind "debug" version of player to give you more feedback?

I confirm that in 1.8.0 nothing was changed.
