Audio crackle/pop

Tue Sep 07, 2010 2:09 am

I'm having trouble with audio when I play movies through Splash player. I use an ATi video card and run sound through HDMI to my TV then optical from TV to my sound system. The problem is I get annoying crackle and popping, I dont have this issue with any other media players, games etc.. only Splash Pro.

Any idea how I can fix this issue?

thanks.

Well it is definitly a problem using HDMI audio only, if I use the PC/DVI audio jack there is no crackle or pop, but this is not a viable solution.

Any ideas why HDMI Audio is popping?

I get a similar issue. Any audio using a digital signal through hdmi or spdif pops intermittently and my receivers OSD flickers with each pop. It seems like there is an issue keeping a constant digital signal as it seems to be breaking up and re-initiating. This also happens when using the software to decode without bitstreaming but it is not as obvious as the receiver is not the main component in decoding. I am using an Auzentech X-Fi Hometheater HD as my soundcard bitstreaming through HDMI. It is unfortunate that this occurs as Splash has been my favourite player since their first release of Lite. It works great for all non digital audio signals though. Please fix this and hopefully add support for the Auzentech Hometheater HD for Splash BD. :D
