Can't Seek in Windows Media files

Hi,
I have the latest version of Splash Pro, but there is a problem: I can't seek in Windows Media (.wmv) files. It doesn't matter how big it is or how new it is or where it comes from, if I try to jump ahead in the video it freezes and I have to close Splash Pro or stop the file and restart it, losing my place.
Is there a fix for this?
Also, unrelated to this, Splash Pro won't open .mpeg/.mpg files for me, even if I have an MPEG codec installed. Is there anyway to fix this too?
