Can Splash Pro send Analog and Digital At the Same Time?

Mon Oct 03, 2011 12:28 pm

Is this Possible?

To route AC3/DTS bitstream through Realtek HD Audio out via HDMI to AVR and also have another output such as Stereo/Stereo Surround Option Selected so Splash decodes it and sends it out to another Analog output?

I have got both Analog (to Analog powered speakers) and Digital (Realtek -> GTS250 -> HDMI out -> Audio Video Receiver) working.

I am doing this now, however any Decoding takes place on the CPU and gets sent as PCM 2Ch 48khz, I want the decoding done on AVR for Digital, and still send Analog to a set of powered speakers. Possible???

Why would I want to do this?

To send music to different rooms. Digital by HDMI decoded by AVR, and Analog sent to a set of powered speakers. Same Audio, Different Rooms.

p.s. I know I know REALTEK is horrible when it comes to Analog noise. But my Soundblaster is done crashing my PC so out it goes for a small sacrifice in quality. Digital shouldn't be affected much at all.

CORRECTION: DTS/AC3 is Sent by Realtek to AVR and AVR Decodes it. Stereo/Stereo Surround is Blocked out when Splash operates in SPDIF Mode sending no audio to Analog powered Speakers. However if only Stereo/Stereo Surround is selected, Digital by Realtek still seems to be Turned On and sending PCM 48khz to AVR! How do I get DTS/AC3 to AVR and Still keep Analog (Stereo/Stereo Surround) On? I understand DTS/AC gets sent without being touched, so can't Splash process 2 different streams and send them through 2 different channels? 1 processed, and the other unprocessed?

Hi, I will pass this for audio guys and ask them to put it on the list to check
but we are quite overworked now and I would not expect to get an answer very soon.
