Motion2 Ultra 1080p problem (SOLVED)

Wed Sep 07, 2011 7:51 pm

I have changed my processor to Intel Core 2 Quad 8200S only to take advantage of the Motion2 Ultra 1080p function and unfortunately when I turn it on in most cases there is a noticable effect of stutter. It occurs with files with a large bitrate (30Mbps) but also in files with 10-12 Mbps. I think I checked almost every available setting (on/off video acceleration, aero etc) unfortunately it is still far from perfect. What is very interesting is that the processor is used only in 80% at most! (checked on win7 and win xp). This suggests that the processor is not a problem. When I turn the Ultra function off, everything works perfectly smooth.

Is my problem connected to hardware? Any solutions?

Splash and Motion2 may not consume 100% of CPU. Probably it takes as much as possible and it is not enough power and stutters. Does the problem repeat with hw acceleration enabled and disabled?

At last I have found what the problem is... the movies are played correctly with 1080pUltra when they have ReFrames=5 . Those who have ReFrames=4 stutter. This suggests that processor is all good but maybe graphics card is too weak? Why the difference in ReFrames is so import_ant? Any suggestions?

The newest drivers from ATI solved my problem. Thank you for your commitment and time.
