Hi,
I have recently been experiencing lockups/crashes while playing back 1080p mkv files. Keep in mind that I have used this software from roughly a month prior to release, and it has not been a problem up to this point. I did a fresh windows reinstall, and still without fail almost all files crash at some point during playback. Please note that this is usually a fixed point in time for that file. Also, splash is using anywhere from 200mb of memory to 400mb. I'm not sure if that is typical or not.
In addition, this has nothing to do with my rig which is more than adequate and has not been a problem in the past. I am running windows 7 with a q8200, 4gb ram, ati 6870.
However, I'm not entirely sure that it is linked to the build either, in that splash had seemed to get more stable as releases have gone on. This has been an issue with both 1.7.1 and 1.8.0. I will try a few earlier versions to see if it makes a difference. ** Just tried 1.7.0, and this also does not work properly. I have noticed that the crashes occur at fixed points in time on files, which is different for each one. I will run some disk checks to test for hard drive and file integrity. Just did both. Not the hard drive. Perhaps file integrity? **Tested with XBMC. File integrity is not the issue.
I think the issue is either linked to bad code inside the dll listed below, or perhaps permissions or some other issue.
Reinstalled windows. The only thing that has not been formatted is/are my external hard drives (playback file directories are here). Do these keep temp files for splash that could create problems?

After a bit of looking around I noticed the offending DLL file seems to be associated with the C++ redistributable, not the source code. However, I am unsure if it is throwing the exception simply as a result of bad input.
Above is an example of the error, as reported by windows.
Any help resolving this is appreciated.
