Hybrid vga trouble

Hi Mirillis,

First of all, great job on your splash player. I've enjoyed testing the hardware acceleration of free version

Recently, I got a Hybrid enabled laptop, the Sony Vaio VPC-CA16FG. Unfortunately, Splash only seems to use hardware acceleration of the intel graphics adapter in this laptop, instead of using the much more powerful AMD radeon 6630M.
i set the splash to high performance but there's no change at all

I realize that using the discrete video card will use more energy on my laptop, however, I am also interested in perfect playback and performance at certain times. Perhaps you can allow the user to choose which graphics card can be used for HW acceleration.

thanks

Note : i used both pro trial and free...

set up a 3d profile in nvidia control panel for splash pro.exe and enable high performance graphics for it (nvidia cards only).

IF you use ATI I think it's up to the ati driver to have aplication profiles regarding gpu profile.

thing is, i activated the mirirlis in high performance mode, and it still has video acceleration in intel clear video where it should be using the AMD radeon GPU

We will try to investigate this, thank for reporting.

Is there something wrong with a playback?
Is Intel Clear Video shown in settings the only problem?

somehow, there are glitches in the video i'm playing... so i tested it in MPC-HC with high performance ( using AMD Radeon ) there's no glitches at all... and it can't use motion as well

i assume Splash Pro is using Intel HD 3000 to render, than AMD radeon 6630

note i have put splash pro in high performance setting as well

We probably need to order the PC with this setup to solve a problem.
We will keep this problem opened in our todo list.

How should i connect my HP labtop to my new lg monitor, vga or dvi or what? I have a 6 month old HP labtop that has as outputs: s video and vga. The lg monitor has inputs: dvi-d, hdmi, and vga. What's the best way i should connect the two to get the best quality, I would also like to watch hd movies through the laptop on the lg hd monitor.

The easiest way will be to connect with vga cable.

Gettin back to the topic we still investigate the problem with hybrid vga,
we have received PCs with AMD+Intel cards and hope to find a solution soon.
