Frame-by-Frame Viewing

Wed Dec 16, 2009 10:59 pm

Is there a way in Splash Lite or Splash Pro to move through an AVCHD video frame by frame? I need this capability for detailed gesture analysis for my college research.

Hello telms,

Sure :) Just press F key during playback to go to the frame by frame playback mode (or using the |> "step frame" button on the control panel).

Best regards.

From what I can tell there is a lack of going backwards with the frame by frame button or by simply pressing F. Do does Mirillis plan on making a back frame button also?

In November, 2009, the Mirillis team e-mailed a reply to me saying "At the moment we are focused on development of Splash PRO with basic features. After Splash PRO, HD-Cam and TV releases we will add some more functionality (reverse frame by frame etc.)" I am eager to get reverse frame by frame, too. I use Splash for viewing my AVCHD footage of High School football games.

Real-time reverse AVCHD playback (up to 2x speed) and reverse frame by frame stepping features will be available in future Splash PRO and Splash HD-Cam products.

Best regards.
