Support for limited RGB?

Tue Jun 29, 2010 11:40 am

I think this would be a useful feature. When connecting HDTVs to your computer, often your graphics card will output full RGB range to them and most HDTVs don't support this, resulting in crushed blacks. ffdshow has an option to limit the colors to 16-235 range to fix this.

So could we have something similar in Splash? Possible even able to choose whether to use it for each display?

It is only an issue with some Intel Cards

As far as I'm aware, the majority of NVIDIA and ATI GPUs provide the option set the video level to 0-255/16-235. Both also provide the option to output in either YCbCr (16-235 by default) or RGB.
