I am using Intel GMA 4500 MHD. When I try to use hardware acceleration (intel clear Video) there is a crash. Disabling resolves the problem.
Splash Lite 1.4.3 i 1.5.0

This problem still exists with my configuration. 1080p videos are nearly unplayable with Lite 1.5 or Pro 1.2.2. Splash Lite 1.2 is still the best for 1080p, in fact it is the best player available. Tried MPC-HC, VLC, PowerDVD etc. Splash Lite 1.2 does the job best. What have you done between these releases to break smooth playback? Please fix it asap.

EDIT: The problem is somehow related to HW acceleration (Intel Clear Video). Disabling it gives smooth playback, but unfortunately my CPU isn't powerful enough to decode hardest parts.

EDIT2: Ghost was online but he didn't bother to answer this one. Oh well...

Hi all,

we have nothing to say, because simply we dont have such hadrawe in our test lab and we are unable to reproduce the problem, so fixing it is impossible right now.
We have some intel GPUs (even G43/G45 - very similar to yours) but all works fine on it.

If we try to reproduce the problem we usually build first version it was raported (in this case SplashLite 1.3) and we test:
- is it stuttering on all 1080p contents (I mean 24p, 30p, 50p, 60p)
- is it stuttering on all video codecs (AVC/H264, VC1, MPEG2)
- is it stuttering on interlaced content (if so, we do test above with 1080i again)
- is it stuttering in fullscreen, window, smallest window
- is it stuttering on low bitrate, high bitrate streams
- is it struttering with 'force video overlay" option disabled, enabled

Answers for those question would help...

regards,

1080p 24p AVC/H.264, fullscreen, window, smallest window: stutters

VC1 seems to be affected also. I cannot totally confirm this because I don't have enough samples.

On high bitrate parts (10-30Mbps) screen also flickers.

Force video overlay makes it even worse. Disabling hardware acceleration would have work if I had better CPU.

This is a pure guess but maybe Video Bitrate information messes it up somehow? That's the only concrete change I see between Splash Lite 1.2 and 1.3.

Looks like old graphics drivers issue. PLease try updating graphics drivers.

We are going to take a closer look at a problem with Intel H/W acceleration soon.
