Please open Info panel (press "i" durings playback) and check what video type is detected by Splash.
Please note that for Divx/Xvid video decoding you will need to install external xvid/divx codec.

In some cases it is possible that due to file corruption it cant able to show the images but can play the sound and some of media players also didnt support such files completely so it works partially.

I have this same problem. Windows Media Player plays sound and video. Splash Pro 1.1 only plays sound, no video. However, it plays the AVCHD files, video and audio, much more easily than WMP. When I select "show information" while the file is playing, I show

stream type: AVI
Video type: Not available
video framerate: Not available
video bitrate: Not available
Audio type: Linear PCM (Stereo, 48000Hz)

These files were pulled from the camcorder through Sony Vegas Pro 9.0e 64-bit.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

The AVI files which will not work are from a Canon miniDV and from a Sony Digital 8 camcorder.
