MSVCR71.dll was not found

Mon Feb 01, 2010 2:38 am

Hello,
I recently installed Splash Lite on my PC, and when I try to watch an XviD avi movie, I get this message:

ActiveMovie Window: SplashLite.exe - Unable to Locate Component
----------------
This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

However, it plays the movie just fine... so I'm not sure why the message is showing up since it seems to be working just fine. I've had splash lite installed on my laptop for some time and it's been working fine... just installed it on the desktop today and am getting this message.

System is Vista Ultimate x64, fairly recent install. AMD Athlon 62 X2 4800, 4GB ram, Foxconn MB... Radeon x800 XT.

let me know if you need any other info ;)

Thanx!

Hi, and welcome to forum.

Splash does not use any MSVCR71.dll file.
It looks like some problem with codecs/filters in your system.

Splash requires external codec for Xvid/Divx video decoding and the problem may be caused by yor codes/filters configuration. You may try to uninstall current divx/xvid decoders and install others.
