Re: new release

@ sjc1963: While I understand your viewpoint, development costs money. The last thing I want is the devs to decide there is no money in Splash and dump it all into Action! or some other product. But it looks like they are working on SPLASH-BD. Frankly, this is by far the best player I have ever used...

Re: export problem/bug

Confirmed. Issue is with the 'high' profile. Normal worked fine. Does not appear to matter what resolution or preset is chosen, at least with the two file & format combinations I tried (960x540 ipod & 960x540 regular). Also note that I do not believe my rig to be the problem, as it streams full blu-...

Re: export problem/bug

Further testing reveals that the 'high' profile seems to be the cause. 'Fast' did not lead to this error. Testing 'normal' now.

Re: export problem/bug

Tried exporting with the ipod touch profile. Same issue. The video almost seems to go forward and backward between frames; its like it jumps two frames forward, one back, and plays back that way.

export problem/bug

Hi, I recently tried out splash pro ex on two different movies: 300 and avatar (had splash ex for a long time but never used it). I ran into some difficulty with the files not playing back correctly on other devices and players apart from splash. In splash, both videos I tried play fine. On my ipod ...

new release

Glad to see that development on splash is underway once more. While none of the fixes are overwhelmingly exciting (unless you are japanese), its still great to see continued support. Also of note, I would rather see a paid upgrade (say 10 - 20 bucks) to fully round out this player as opposed to not ...

Re: TrueHD 7.1 not working?

Splash does support 7.1 truehd but ONLY using bitstreaming options. That means hdmi. Not sure if s/pdif works for this. Otherwise, it cannot play. DTS-MA probably works for you because it has a -core, which means that it is standard dts packaged inside of the dts-ma file.

Re: can splash pro use ffdshow audio?

I don't believe splash supports AAC 5.1 files as a bitstreaming format. If it does, keep in mind your receiver will also need to support this format. Perhaps ghost can shed more light on this. If your receiver (or splash) does not support this format, you would have to demux the AAC file, transcode ...

Re: can splash pro use ffdshow audio?

Hmm not sure I follow entirely. AC3 and Dolby Digital are synonymous with one another. The only codec I have run into trouble with is dolby truehd, as truehd does not have a CORE file like DTS-HD does. In order to use splash to play Dolby Digital HD tracks, you need to connect via HDMI. However, AC3...
